Creative people need “loose systems”…

I like this word “loose systems“ because I’ve observed it’s far easier for me to follow a creative routine that has some flexibility built in to it…

There are diverse findings, that consistently support the hypothesis that creative cognition and output are enhanced in environments characterized by flexibility, decision making, and reduced bureaucratic constraint.

I have observed - I thrive in these “loose” or flexible environments that have a lot autonomy, ambiguity, and exploration!

Beauty and our Brains!

Beauty and our Brains!

Brands understand this neurological psychology well. Starbucks' rounded logo evokes warmth and invites feelings of comfort, similar to the relaxing ambience of a cozy café. In contrast, Tesla's angular logo engages neural circuits related to sharpness, innovation, and futuristic thinking. Think of something iconic - like the smooth curves of a Porsche 911 or a Volkswagen Beetle. What makes them so timeless? They mirror the natural elegance found in nature, and leverage our minds neural preferences.

As photographers, we often look for these patterns and recognisable shapes. Then we intentionally use that in our compositions, to powerfully evoke emotions. Hoping to transport viewers precisely to the feeling we aim to share.

Quantity often has it's own Quality!

As a photographer, I can say this with certainty: some of my favorite shots weren’t the result of a perfect plan. They were found in the middle of repetition — shooting daily, experimenting, failing.

One photo might be okay. But a thousand? That’s when a story starts to emerge. A voice. A point of view.

The Himalayan Journals

Welcome to my Podcast - "The Himalayan Journals"

It's 2:20 AM, the vinyl stopped playing long ago and I have been reading the Himalayan Club Journals for some time now... These journals are crammed with tiny tales of bold mountaineers, their roving adventures and scientific explorations over a century! As I got lost in the snow-capped peaks, hidden mountain valleys and stories of the local communities, I wished someone would tell me these forgotten stories as mountain folklore.

I scraped the internet but couldn't find what I was looking for, so ended up creating this Podcast - "The Himalayan Journals" as my personal time machine—a way to connect with the grandfather I never met, through the adventures he might have dreamt of. Picture this: an old traveler, wise with age, his eyes twinkling with mischief, recounting his wild escapades to an eager young boy, hanging on his every word.

Each episode is a blend of wisdom, and wanderlust, with stories that have stood the test of time. Go, grab your headphones and join our little circle of true mountain lovers gathered under the starlit sky of the Himalayas.
