Creative people need “loose systems”…
I like this word “loose systems“ because I’ve observed it’s far easier for me to follow a creative routine that has some flexibility built in to it…
I usually keep some “me time” in the morning… I might spend it - taking photos, going for a ride or just sit at home and do nothing at-all. There are diverse findings, that consistently support the hypothesis that creative cognition and output are enhanced in environments characterized by flexibility, decision making, and reduced bureaucratic constraint.
I have observed - I thrive in these “loose” or flexible environments that have a lot autonomy, ambiguity, and exploration!
An early morning in Paris. Last fall.
